A little bit about Olga
Born north of Brazil, Olga Cardoso was introduced to sports at a very young age. Her dad was her first gymnastics coach and Olga's mother was her physical education teacher. Olga comes from a family of extremely devoted athletes. With these strong roots it didn't take long for Olga to make sports part of her life .
Her mother was her coach in her very first Rhythmic Gymnastics competition. For twelve years she competed nationally in Brazil under coach Carmen Lilia Faro. Coach Faro once stated of Olga, "...she exemplifies the meaning work for it!..." At the age nineteen Olga was invited to a try out for sport aerobics. With powerful music and strong movements Olga wanted to try her best to make the team. And she did!
What she didn't know was that she was about to embark on a long and successful career. Olga says, "at the first I never thought I could be any good nor compete at the international level as an athlete. Here's a little secret, I take my time to understand the eight-counts of the music, slowly go through the choreography and master the high kick, which is a beautiful kick if I might add, however to slow for Sport Aerobics pace, ha, ha, ha !..."
"Special Thanks"
Thank you to all those who have made my career fun and successful. First, to mom and dad for getting me involved in sports. To my sidekick sister for making it an everlasting journey! To Roberson and Claudio for being partners in crime.
To Ann Macvet for her compassion and guidance. Ann thank you so much for making things possible and giving me a chance to get my foot in the door. A super big thanks to all the kids and class participants for making life so beautiful.
Lastly, to Lori and Jeremy Lowell for their love and support. Both Lori and Jeremy provided me with a venue to display my skills.
